BRIGHT is the annual Researchers’ Night in Tuscany, when all the universities and research centres in the region open their laboratories and bring their discoveries to the streets to tell citizens about the importance of scientific research in the growth and development of the territory.
BRIGHT stands for “Brilliant Researchers Impact on Growth Health and Trust in research”, meaning talented researchers that have an impact on growth, health and trust in research: an acronym that symbolizes the positive side of research activity and spreads a message of trust to the general public.
The BRIGHT project aims to improve the visibility and perception of the work of researchers among Tuscan citizens and takes place simultaneously with all the European initiatives of the Researchers’ Night.
In the last edition, 1500 researchers were involved in 350 meetings, events and shows in 14 Tuscan cities, thanks to the collaboration between the Region and the Universities of Siena, Florence and Pisa, but also the Scuola Sant’Anna, the Normale, the IMT of Lucca, the University for Foreigners of Siena, the CNR of Pisa, the National Institute of Nuclear Physics and the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology.
