Two self-assessment tools are available to businesses for testing Industry 4.0 competencies and calculating cybersecurity maturity levels, provided through the Sportello Imprese Unlock portal and the Cyber Security Observatory.
Sportello Imprese Unlock serves as the operational arm of the Regional Industry 4.0 Platform. It acts as a streamlined access point for companies aiming to innovate and remain competitive. The space is designed as a "dashboard" of tools, information, and opportunities available in Tuscany for businesses embarking on their digitalization journey through Industry 4.0 technologies.
Among the tools available upon request are three assessment models developed with the scientific support of the Department of Civil and Industrial Engineering at the University of Pisa and the Department of Information Engineering and Mathematical Sciences at the University of Siena, in collaboration with IRPET. These three tests allow companies to quickly evaluate their strengths and weaknesses through an Industry 4.0 lens, enabling them to take informed steps toward this new industrial paradigm:
- First-Level Evaluation Questionnaire: Aimed at companies looking to assess their technological maturity and identify necessary actions to navigate regional and national support instruments. This is a straightforward check-up that can be completed independently in approximately 20 minutes.
- Advanced Assessment Questionnaire: Provides a comprehensive overview of a company’s positioning by analyzing structural elements from both organizational and operational perspectives. Completion may require the support of qualified personnel, which is provided free of charge for this type of survey.
- Technological Audit: Represents the most in-depth level of analysis available.
The Cyber Security Observatory of the Institute of Informatics and Telematics of the CNR (IIT-CNR) was established to inform and raise awareness among SMEs, professionals, and public entities regarding the importance of cybersecurity.
The Observatory shares the expertise and research outputs of the IIT-CNR Cybersecurity Lab, which focuses on identifying vulnerabilities and cyber threats while developing advanced methodologies for securing networks, systems, and information. To support this mission, the Observatory has launched a quick and user-friendly online self-assessment tool to calculate cyber risk.
The service requires two types of input: security measures currently in place and corporate resources. Once the questionnaire is completed, the system estimates the expected annual losses for each threat and provides an overall total risk value.
